Golfing for Good
Published: August 28, 2019
On August 15, USSFCU Staff joined MDDC Credit Union Association at Top Golf, Alexandria to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. A number of credit unions from the DMV area gathered to support the cause and to partake in a friendly competition for the team with the highest score. The fundraiser included opportunities for donations, 50/50 raffles, awards, and a dinner buffet. Guest were also welcomed to yard games such as corn hole, darts, ladder ball and more.
The Children’s Miracle Network provides supplemental financial support to children and families across North America whose Medicaid and insurance programs do not fully cover the cost of their care. Supporting 170 member hospitals, Children’s Miracle Network treats over 22,500 children daily that depend on the supplemental support of donations. Their most iconic fundraising staple the “Miracle Balloon” was created in 1989 representing donations as little as $1, account for approximately $88 million per year.
Even though this was a golfing first for some of the USSFCU Staff, smiles and laughter filled the air throughout the evening. Thank you to MDDC Credit Union Association for inviting USSFCU to be a part of a great event and thank you to all of the USSFCU Staff and other credit unions that participated, making the event successful and fun for everyone!
